Welcome to DriveMe Mauritius. By booking or using our services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before completing a reservation. These terms apply to all bookings made via our website, email, or phone and govern the relationship between you (the renter) and DriveMe Mauritius as well as our approved local partners.

1. Definitions

“We”, “us”, “our” refers to DriveMe Mauritius and our local rental partners. “You”, “your”, “renter” refers to the primary driver named on the booking voucher. “Vehicle” refers to the car supplied under the rental agreement. “Voucher” refers to the booking confirmation issued after payment.

2. Eligibility & Driver Requirements

Minimum driver age is typically 21–23 with at least 1 year of driving experience. A valid driver’s licence is required for the entire rental period. If your licence is not in English or French, an International Driving Permit may be requested. Additional drivers must meet the same criteria and be named on the agreement.

3. Identification at Pickup

You must present your passport or national ID, driving licence, and booking voucher. The supplier may take a copy for insurance and legal compliance. Failure to present required documents may result in refusal of service without refund as per the supplier’s policy.

4. Payments, No Deposit & No Credit Card

Many cars are available with No Deposit and No Credit Card options. Where a deposit is required, it will be clearly shown during checkout. Accepted payment methods include debit card and, for some cars, cash. Exchange rates and bank charges are borne by you. Any unpaid extras are settled directly with the supplier at pickup or return.

5. Pricing & What’s Included

Daily rates generally include local taxes, basic insurance, and standard mileage unless stated otherwise. Optional items such as full or zero-excess insurance, child seats, additional drivers, cross-island delivery, after-hours service, and refuelling are charged as extras as displayed during booking or on the supplier’s tariff.

6. Insurance & Excess

Basic insurance (third-party and collision protection with an excess) is included unless stated otherwise. Excess amounts, exclusions, and coverage limits are defined by the local supplier. You may upgrade to full or reduced-excess cover when available. Insurance becomes void in cases of negligence, drunk driving, off-road driving, or breaches of these terms.

7. Vehicle Condition & Use

Please inspect the vehicle at pickup and note any existing damage on the checkout form. Return the vehicle in the same condition, normal wear accepted. Off-road driving, beach driving, towing, racing, or transporting dangerous goods is strictly prohibited. Smoking inside the vehicle is not permitted. Cleaning or valeting fees may apply for excessive dirt, sand, or odours.

8. Fuel Policy & Mileage

The standard policy is full-to-full unless otherwise stated. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the supplier may charge the missing fuel plus a service fee. Mileage may be unlimited or limited depending on the tariff shown at booking.

9. Pickup, Delivery & Late Return

Airport pickup at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam or hotel delivery is available where indicated. Please provide correct flight details for airport service. Grace periods are at the supplier’s discretion. Late returns may incur extra day charges at the local daily rate. Early returns are non-refundable unless required by law.

10. Modifications, Cancellations & No-Show

Free cancellation is usually available within the window shown on your voucher. Outside that window, cancellation fees may apply. No-shows, missing documents, or refusal to meet local requirements may result in forfeiture of prepaid amounts. To modify dates or vehicle class, contact us as early as possible – changes are subject to availability and any price difference.

11. Fines, Tolls & Traffic Violations

You are responsible for all parking tickets, traffic fines, and related administrative fees incurred during the rental period. Where required by law, we may share your details with authorities for processing of violations.

12. Accidents, Theft & Breakdown

In case of accident or theft, immediately notify the police, the supplier, and our support. A police report and incident form are mandatory for insurance claims. For mechanical issues, contact the supplier’s assistance line for instructions – unauthorized repairs are not reimbursed without prior approval.

13. Vehicle Category & Model Example

Bookings are confirmed by category, not by specific make or model. Example models are for guidance only. If your category is unavailable at pickup, the supplier will provide an equal or higher category at no extra cost whenever possible.

14. Cross-Border & Ferry Use

Vehicles must remain within Mauritius unless explicit written permission is granted. Ferry use and inter-island transport are not allowed unless authorized by the supplier in writing. Unauthorized travel voids insurance and may incur penalties.

15. Security Deposit Release

Where a deposit is taken, it is released after return once the vehicle is inspected and no extra charges apply. Bank processing times are outside our control. Damage, missing fuel, lost keys, unpaid extras, or fines may be deducted per the supplier’s policy.

16. Data Protection

We process your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy. By booking, you consent to data sharing with the local supplier and insurance providers solely for the purpose of delivering the service and legal compliance.

17. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the booking. We are not responsible for indirect losses, missed flights, loss of enjoyment, or events beyond our reasonable control including weather, road closures, or government actions.

18. Governing Law & Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Mauritius. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Mauritius unless mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise.

Effective Date

These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings made on or after 01 November 2025 and remain in force until updated on this page.
